Personal Statement

People are more important than paintings--so, for me, it's the person that "makes" the portrait. I seek a spirited and intelligent likeness, painting the vibes that I sense when I work directly from observation. Getting to see and know the sitter more clearly, the unfolding process, that's what I like the best.
